Small animal shim cradle
Small animal shim coil cradle (8, 16 or 24 shim elements) for MRI scanners.

The Metis shim coil solution is a small-animal cradle with integrated local shim coils. The shim coil array has different realisations with either 8, 16 or 24 shim elements. A custom number of shim elements can be manufactured upon customer request. The shim coil is compatible with all field strengths (3T - 11.7T). The shim coils can be updated in slice-wise dynamic (using a TTL trigger) or real-time mode.
The cradle is available for both rat and mouse applications, and for both body and brain applications. The cradle includes anesthesia mask and 3-point head fixation system: bite bar and ear bars.
The shim coils have negligible impact of the RF coil performance. The shim elements are optimised to minimise induced e.m.f. and eddy currents while maximising efficiency. It can be used for imaging and spectroscopy applications to significantly boost SNR, reduce distortion artifacts and recover signal loss.
Compatibility with custom cradle designs can be manufactured upon customer request.
